A wall painting (fresco) by Johanan Simon, an artist that lived in Gan Shmuel as a member, in the middle of the 20th century
Rabbi Samuel Mohilever (1824-1898)
Rabbi in Poland and one of the founders of religious Zionism. Was a leader of the "Hovvey Zion" movement.

Kibbutz Gan Shmuel was named after Rabbi Mohilever by his supporters, who memorized his 75th birthday anniversary and planted an "Ethrog's" orchard in the site of today's Gan Shmuel, and called the plantation "Gan (garden) Shmuel"
